Who are we?
The 42 Málaga Fundación Telefónica programming campus opened its doors in April 2022. The location could not be more ideal: in the heart of the National Digital Content Hub (formerly the Tabacalera), sharing space with the city’s technology ecosystem.
The facilities cover an area of 2,400 m² and have the capacity to accommodate 500 students. It is equipped with 210 computers.
Funded by Fundación Telefónica, 42 Málaga is much more than just a programming campus. It is a training centre that fosters values and the right attitude, whilst teaching technical and soft skills. With a disruptive model of free, face-to-face training, it will equip you with the digital skills most sought after by companies.
An unique experience
- An innovative learning method, free of charge, open to anyone aged 18 or over, with no need for qualifications or prior technical knowledge.
- A philosophy centred on ‘learning to learn’ and a methodology based on gamification and collaborative learning amongst students – ‘peer-to-peer’ – with no textbooks, timetables or lectures.
- A model designed to develop technological skills whilst also fostering transferable skills such as autonomy, resilience and adaptability to change, tolerance to frustration, creativity and, above all, teamwork, amongst many others.
- A form of learning adapted to the changes of today’s technological age. We do not teach how to use AI. We teach how to build it. Whilst many programmes focus on the use of tools, at 42 students understand how AI systems work, how they are designed, how they connect to real-world data and how they can be deployed safely and reliably.

Frequently asked questions
Yes, you can. However, 42 does not offer distance learning. You must attend in person for the selection process and throughout the entire course.
42 does not issue visas. Those interested should consult their embassy. International candidates can contact our team via the admissions platform to obtain an invitation to the ‘Piscine’.
Mainly Spanish, although a basic level of English is recommended to facilitate learning.
Training at 42 is completely free of charge. There are no hidden fees, now or after 42.
You’ll need a place to sleep in and cover your daily costs (transport, allowances, etc.) if you don’t live in Madrid, which will be at your own expense, except for your studies at 42 which, as we mentioned, are 100% free of charge for students.
Any person of legal age can submit an application to the campus. There’s no age limit.
Everyone is welcome at 42, but we don’t recommend training to students before they’re of legal age to prevent them from dropping out of secondary school.
Up to a maximum of four and a half years on average, with the first part – the ‘Common Core’ – lasting between 12 and 18 months.
The training at 42 is intensive. It isn’t advisable to have a full-time job. Part-time work is more reasonable, but it requires a large degree of personal discipline.
